Personality: Garnet at first comes across as very sweet and soft-spoken, polite and well-mannered--which she can be. She was bred and raised to be a lady, after all, but she can also be very stubborn and willful. Far from being a mindless lady of substance she is intelligent and willing to risk her own life and well being for something she wants. Life as a runaway has strengthened, tested and hardened her somewhat, but she still remains at heart the good-hearted, sheltered girl. This often shows the most in her manner of speaking, which is completely without contractions, at least at the moment. Hiding from her mother and her employees has made Garnet incredibly wary despite her usual giving nature. Surprisingly, she remembers nothing of her childhood before she was six save for a lullaby which makes her act a little strangely with children. She is also very intelligent, which can cause her to be condescending or intimidating without really intending it, and oddly innocent at others. She is not perfect, far from it, and is not above using her intelligence in cunning or manipulative ways, such as drugging her bodyguard to run away and assuming another name.

Biography:

Unknown to her, Garnet has forgotten a lot of her early life. She was born Sarah, the daughter of a poor healer. The pair were mugged, and managed to escape to a private hospital in the midst of a storm. Sarah's mother died from exposure but the warmth of her body kept the child alive, where she was discovered by the personal physician of the powerful Alexandros family who were involved in banking. In some odd coincidence, the traumatized child looked almost identical to the daughter of Stavros and Brahne Alexandros who had died earlier that week, save for a birthmark, which the doctor soon surgically removed. The physician knew the wealthy pair had been distraught over the loss of their daughter and an heir for the fortune and banking empire they had built. Doctor Tot presented the girl to the pair, and after a long discussion it was decided that the death of Garnet would not be publicised, and instead Sarah would assume her identity.

Over time, Sarah, now Garnet, suppressed all the traumatic memories and everything else of her former life, save for the lullaby her mother used to sing her. She knows no other life then what she has had since becoming Garnet. Stavros and Brahne were loving to each other and incredibly protective of Garnet. She was home schooled by the finest tutors rather than risk germs or corruption from other children, and given everything money could buy. She excelled in literature and drama, quoting Shakespeare from the age of nine, and everyone loved her.

Then tragedy struck, and things began to change. Stavros was killed and amid the mourning for her father, Garnet began to notice a change in her mother. Her parents had always loved each other more than anything, and without her husband, Brahne began to change, becoming more irritable, snappish, and power hungry than she ever had before. A mysterious man would come around, urging the distraught woman on, and eventually she turned Neglectful of Garnet. Worried for her mother, the girl tried to get her tutors and bodyguards to listen to her, but they thought she was the one going mad with grief.

So, she planned. She squirreled away portions of her allowance and stole clothes from the maids. On the night of her eighteenth birthday, Garnet ran away after slipping her bodyguard a Mickey and learning how to get away from the security system. Once out, in fairly nondescript clothes, save for a medallion give her by her father, which was secreted away and a new name--Dagger, she went to the slums for a place to live and hide. Scared of the amount of people at first and how rough they seemed she learned quickly about life on the streets and barely manages to keep a small place in the slums, her money quickly running out.
